Petra Kvitova improved to 6-0 against her good friend and fellow Czech Lucie Safarova with a win in the semifinals of Wimbledon on Thursday.

But it was not a routine victory, particularly in a very tight first set as Safarova kept Kvitova off balance with a mix of speeds and crosscourt shots.
