The Pro Course

During Wimbledon, ATP and WTA players gathered together to participate in the fifth staging of the Pro Course. This four-day Transitions Program, provided by the Women's Tennis Benefits Association (WTBA) and ATP, offers players, past and present, skill-building opportunities to help them excel in their professional lives, during and after their competitive careers.

Through classroom instruction and peer mentoring, players learn the importance of building a solid business foundation, discussing career options, managing their job search and analyzing ways to succeed in a variety of tennis-oriented businesses.

Former WTA players Rennae Stubbs and Karin Kschwendt, along with British Fed Cup Captain Judy Murray, were among those talking to the players on a range of topics, such as journalism, player representation, tournament management and coaching.

The USPTA and PTR led the on-court sessions, and participants will receive coaching certifications from both organizations upon completion of the program.

WTA players attending the course included Maria Abramovic, Mihaela Buzarnescu, Andreea Ehritt-Vanc, Nicola Geuer, Teodora Mircic, Tzipora Obziler, Patty Schnyder, Vladka Uhlirova and Rita Vukova.

Feedback from the players was positive, with former Top 10 player Patty Schnyder commenting: "The Pro Course was a wonderful experience. I was impressed with the quality of presenters and what they contributed during the course."
