STANFORD, CA, USA - On Saturday we told you the story of Marissa Irvin Gould, who has been keeping very busy since retiring from professional tennis almost nine years ago in 2005 - completing her university degree, starting a family, teaching elementary school - and most recently writing her first children's book, A Magical Racquet Ride: Journey To The Four Grand Slam Tournaments Of Tennis.

The American took that magical racquet ride to Kepler's Books in Menlo Park, in conjunction with the Bank Of The West Classic, reading her book to the crowd, taking part in a Q&A and signing autographs - and joining her on the ride was Grand Slam champion and former World No.4 Samantha Stosur.

"It was great coming to Kepler's today - it was a really cool turnout," Stosur said afterwards.

"For Marissa to have published a book about tennis is really unique, and it's definitely the first children's book about tennis. It's just really awesome that a past player was able to come back and share her love of the sport and hopefully get lots of young kids inspired to come out and play tennis."

Stosur didn't just enjoy the idea of a children's book about tennis, she enjoyed the actual book.

"It's a fantastic book - the illustrations, the rhyming, the feel - it's just really cool," she said.

"Hopefully I can read that book to a few little kids one day as well!"
