Elina Svitolina put herself back in the discussion for a spot at the BNP Paribas Finals Singapore presented by SC Global with a triumph in Baku.

Elina Svitolina's July rise up the Road To Singapore leaderboard continued after defending her title at the Baku Cup on Sunday.

The 19-year-old Ukrainian started the month in 44th place and well out of contention for one of the eight spots available at October's BNP Paribas Finals Singapore presented by SC Global. She ascended to No.38 after a quarterfinal outing at Istanbul. Then after becoming the first teenager since Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in 2011 to capture multiple WTA titles, she jumped into contention.
