Five years on from her initial breakthrough, Melanie Oudin is fit, healthy and climbing up the rankings again.

In the summer of 2009, Melanie Oudin had the world at her feet. Having come through qualifying to reach the fourth round of Wimbledon, Oudin then went one round further during a fairytale run at the US Open, and all at just 17 years of age. 

In the years that followed, the American has more than her fair share of ups and downs, as she told The Vancouver Sun.
