Serena Williams picked up her WTA-leading fourth title of the season and in the process made major progress in her pursuit of a spot at the WTA Finals.

Serena Williams' WTA-leading fourth title of the season at Stanford gave her a great chance to grab one of the eight berths available at the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global.

Having previously been victorious in 2014 at Brisbane, Miami and Rome, Williams collected 470 points for her latest title, in the process passing two WTA stars on the Road To Singapore leaderboard.
