Serena Williams has emerged as an early frontrunner in the Emirates Airline US Open Bonus Challenge, topping the standings after her triumph in Stanford.

Serena Williams' triumph in last year's US Open final earned her a 17th major title and also the largest payout in tennis history.

Having already won the Emirates Airline US Open Bonus Challenge, Williams' $2.6 million winner's cheque was bumped up to $3.6 million. And the American has emerged as an early frontrunner in this summer's Bonus Challenge, topping the standings after her triumph in Stanford.
