MONTRÉAL, Canada - Chan Hao-Ching and Chan Yung-Jan were among the first round doubles winners on Monday at the Rogers Cup.

The Chans' season has included a title in Eastbourne and a runner-up showing in Charleston, and they came into this week 15th on the Road to Singapore leaderboard. Interestingly enough, their first round foes, Julia Goerges and Anna-Lena Groenefeld, were in 14th place.

The Chans were the better team on this day, recording a 6-1, 6-4 triumph to set up a second round showdown with No.3 seeds Kveta Peschke and Katarina Srebotnik.

Another pair of sisters, the Pliskovas, also were victorious. The Czechs were 6-4, 7-5 winners over Marina Erakovic and Andreja Klepac. Next up for them are fourth-seeded Cara Black and Sania Mirza, whom they lost to in their only previous meeting in Doha earlier this year.

Finally, Caroline Garcia and Alicja Rosolska won four straight games from 4-2 down in the first set en route to a 6-4, 6-4 defeat of wildcard entrants Kirsten Flipkens and Petra Kvitova. It was the French-Polish duo's first match together.

The Top 9 teams on the Road To Singapore leaderboard are all in the draw this week. No.1 seeds Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci are the only pairing to already secure one of Singapore's eight berths.
