The Plot
Radwanska came into this event full of confidence, having beaten former World No.1s Victoria Azarenka and Venus Williams last week in Montréal en route to her first WTA title of the season.

Japanese No.1 Nara surrendered just two games in her opener here against Romina Oprandi. But the competition would be much stiffer against Radwanska, the first Top 5 opponent of her career.

The Turning Point
Nara actually was up an early break at 2-1. But Radwanska broke right back during a nine game run that saw her win the first set and take control of the second.

Radwanska eventually went on to a comfortable 6-2, 6-2 victory.

By The Numbers
Radwanska was five of eight on break points compared to just one of six for Nara. Another key stat was Radwanska won nine of 11 second serve points, while Nara made good on only nine of 20.

In five outings here, Radwanska has never failed to win her opener.

Quotes
"I'm very happy to get the win," Radwanska said. "I didn't have much time to adjust after Montréal. One practice pretty much and a warm-up. But it was a quick two sets, so it was a good day."

What's Next
Radwanska takes on Sabine Lisicki, who was a 6-4, 2-6, 7-6(2) winner over No.14 seed Sara Errani.

Interestingly enough, Lisicki beat Errani just last week in Montréal before eventually falling to Radwanska, with whom she has split her four meetings.

"It was a long, tight match," Radwanska said of her recent clash with Lisicki. "It will probably be similar here as well. I just hope I can play the same good tennis as I did in Montréal, so we'll see."
