36. Jelena Ostapenko (LAT)
Ostapenko continued her rapid rise up the WTA rankings, roaring into the biggest final of her young career at the Qatar Total Open.
35. Lucie Safarova (CZE)
Safarova took home the US Open title with Bethanie Mattek-Sands and finishing runner-up to Makarova/Vesnina in Singapore.
34. Camila Giorgi (ITA)
Giorgi reached her fifth career WTA final at the Katowice Open, falling to future WTA Finals champion Dominika Cibulkova.
33. Sania Mirza (IND)
The top-ranked doubles star held onto the No.1 ranking through a pair of successful partnerships with Martina Hingis and Barbora Strycova.
32. Caroline Garcia (FRA)
Garcia continued making strides in singles, winning a pair of titles in Strasbourg and Mallorca.
31. Kristina Mladenovic (FRA)
Mladenovic also enjoyed massive doubles success with Garcia, and reached two more singles finals in 's-Hertogenbosch and Hong Kong.
