INDIAN WELLS, CA, USA - Elena Vesnina hardly had time to bask in the glow of her BNP Paribas Open Baccarat crystal trophy when it slipped from her grasp.

The Russian had just won a 35-game women's final, the longest in Indian Wells history - and had battled on court for just over three hours to defeat countrywoman Svetlana Kuznetsova, 6-7(6), 7-5, 6-4, when the trophy was called for a date with men's winner, Roger Federer.

Check out the moment unfold on the tournament's Youtube page:

While both winners go home with their own replica, the official trophy is shared between them for each trophy ceremony; Federer's quick win over compatriot Stan Wawrinka meant Vesnina had less time with it than she surely would have liked.

"Don't take it from me!" she joked as the heavy crystal was ambled away. "You were just asking me about a heartbreaking moment," she added, referring to the netcord winner Kuznetsova hit to win a tense opening set, "and here's another one!"

But all's well that ends well, as the No.14 seed was later reunited with the trophy for a post-victory photoshoot.
