MATCH FACTS

Pauline Parmentier hopes to reach the last eight for the second successive year, the French woman having lost to Vania King at the same stage last summer.

Elise Mertens has won both previous meetings with Pauline Parmentier - in Victoria, Mexico in 2015 and in Rabat earlier this year.

Tatjana Maria seeks a seventh quartefinal of 2017. The German has already made the last eight at the Dow Tennis Classic and also in Southsea, Contrexeville, Marseille, Ilkley and Rabat.

Tatjana Maria's opponent on Thursday, Nadia Podoroska, is yet to reach the last eight at any tournament this year.

The only previous meeting of Tatjana Maria and Nadia Podoroska went the way of the German, in Acapulco earlier this year.
