SINGAPORE - The Chan sisters, Hao-Ching and Yung-Jan, have become the seventh team to qualify for the doubles event at the $7-million BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global.

It will be the team's first appearance at the WTA Finals, but one of the sisters - Yung-Jan - has been to the WTA's crown jewel event before, with Chuang Chia-Jung when it was held in Madrid in 2007.

This is also just the third all-sister pair to qualify for the doubles event at the WTA Finals after the Maleevas in 1986 (Manuela and Katerina) and the Williams sisters in 2009 (Venus and Serena).

"This is a great opportunity and we're very happy to qualify for the WTA Finals in Singapore," Chan Yung-Jan said. "We had to work extra hard to achieve this goal. This is huge for us and we are really looking forward to it - it will be my second WTA Finals and I can't wait to go to Singapore."
