SINGAPORE - Hsieh Su-Wei and Peng Shuai, who have won three big titles this season - including a Grand Slam title at the French Open - have qualified for the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global, set to take place at the state-of-the-art Singapore Sports Hub in October.

In addition to the French Open, their second Grand Slam doubles title together after Wimbledon last year, Hsieh and Peng have also won Premier-level titles at Doha and Indian Wells this year, taking their phenomenal record in WTA doubles finals to 12-0. They both rose to No.1 in the world this year too, Chinese Taipei and China's first World No.1s male or female, in either singles or doubles.

Even more relevantly, Hsieh and Peng won the WTA Finals last year when it was held in Istanbul.

"I am very excited to make the WTA Finals in Singapore," Peng said. "The last couple of years in China, tennis has become more and more popular. This is the first time the WTA Finals will be in Asia, and Singapore is a really interesting city. And last year we had a really good tournament."

The historic nature of the Hsieh and Peng duo isn't lost on Martina Navratilova, a WTA Finals Legends Ambassador and the best player in the history of the tournament - the Czech-born American has conquered the singles event eight times and the doubles event an unbelievable 11 times.

"Hsieh and Peng already know what it takes to win on the biggest stages," Navratilova said.

"Their distinctive style, both playing double-handed off both sides, gives their opponents real headahces, but it's a lot of fun to watch. The fans in Singapore are in for a real treat this year."
