Top-seeded Peng Shuai led compatriots Wang Qiang, Duan Ying-Ying and Zheng Saisai into the semifinals in Zhengzhou with a straight-sets win over Zarina Diyas.

ZHENGZHOU, China - Peng Shuai continued to justify her top seeding with a 6-3, 6-3 quarterfinal win over Zarina Diyas. The 23-year-old Kazakh, a former WTA World No.31, is on the comeback trail from a wrist surgery that had kept her out for seven months since Wimbledon last year.

Diyas was on a seven-match winning streak following her victory in last week's ITF $25,000 tournament in Nanning, and her exploits will see her rise back into the Top 200 on Monday.

Peng, whose own return from spine surgery in 2015 has seen her regain a Top 50 ranking, will face No.5 seed Zheng Saisai in the last four. Zheng posted a straightforward 6-3, 6-4 victory over Japanese No.4 seed Nao Hibino, but is winless in three attempts against Peng.

The ranking favorites held firm in the remaining two quarterfinals as No.2 seed Wang Qiang and No.3 seed Duan Ying-Ying both scored straight-set wins to round out an all-Chinese semifinal line-up.

The 27-year-old Duan beat unseeded Korean Jang Su Jeong 6-4, 7-5, which saw her take an overall 3-2 lead in the players' head-to-head, but she will have a tougher record to overcome in the next round. 25-year-old Wang, who eased past compatriot Liu Fangzhou 6-2, 6-3, has beaten Duan in nine of their 10 career meetings - with Duan's only victory coming via retirement, in the final of the Tianjin ITF $25,000 in 2015.
