The winners at the New Haven Open at Yale usually have a deep run at the US Open. Will Simona Halep follow suit?
WTA Staff

NEW YORK, NY, USA - Since what is now known as the New Haven Open at Yale moved to its current spot on the calendar, the week leading up to the US Open, its winners have usually taken their good form into Flushing Meadows. In fact, the champion has never failed to reach the third round at the US Open and just once has fallen shy of the fourth round. That is a good omen for the red-hot Simona Halep, who just won her fourth WTA title of the season in New Haven on Saturday.
