Simona Halep became one of six players in the Open Era to go from zero career titles to at least six in one season.

As recently as early June, Simona Halep was a three-time WTA finalist who had not yet captured a title. Yet over the next five months, the Romanian incredibly collected six WTA titles - at Nürnberg, 's-Hertogenbosch, Budapest, New Haven, Moscow and Sofia. That made her one of just six players in the Open Era to win their first six tour-level titles all in the same season. Here is the list of those who have accomplished this feat:
