Doubles stars Lucie Safarova and Bethanie Mattek-Sands have been nominated in the Women's Sports Foundation's Sportswoman of the Year awards.

The pair are finalists in the Team Sport category after winning three of the last four Grand Slams together.

Mattek-Sands, 32, is currently ranked No.1 in the world but will miss the rest of the season after sustaining a serious knee injury at Wimbledon; Safarova, 30, is set to take the top spot from her should she reach the semifinals of the Western and Southern Open with her stand-in partner Barbora Strycova.
