The third-seeded Vinci came into the match 2-0 against Jovanovski, but few could have predicted how one-sided this one would be. It was her third career 60 60 win and interestingly enough, her second occurred just two weeks ago in Montréal against another Serb - Ana Ivanovic.

"I played well. She played so-so," Vinci said. "But 60 60 is not easy. You have to stay focused every point, every game."

Vinci takes a 6-1 record in finals into Friday's championship match against yet another Serb, No.2 seed Jelena Jankovic.

"I know it will be tough, but I have a chance to win tomorrow for sure," Vinci said. "I will try my best. I'm so happy to be in my first final of the year."

As for Jankovic, she was a 75 64 winner over qualifier Casey Dellacqua, coming back from a 40-0 deficit in the final game on the Australian's serve to seal the victory and improve to 3-0 in their series.

"It was a battle out there. I think Casey played really well," Jankovic said. "There were a lot of tough games and points. It's never easy to play a left-handed player. It has been a long time since we played each other. I hung in there and stayed positive and made it in two sets."

The former World No.1 slipped to her lowest ranking since May 2006 this week - No.34 - but now finds herself a win away from her first title since Indian Wells in March 2010. She has lost her four finals since then, including her lone one this year at Birmingham.

"I'm glad I was able to come here to Dallas and play really good matches and feel that pressure and get that competition that will help prepare me for the Open," Jankovic said. "I'm really looking forward to tomorrow's final. I'm going to try to play the best that I can and have fun."

Jankovic is 3-0 versus Vinci, though two of those went to third set tie-breaks.

The doubles final was also set, as fourth-seeded Marina Erakovic and Heather Watson and Liga Dekmeijere and Irina Falconi prevailed in match tie-breaks in their respective semifinals. Erakovic and Watson are now 7-0 together, having been victorious in Stanford last month in their only previous outing. Dekmeijere and Falconi are paired up for the first time this week.
