LONDON, England - After her impressive run at the French Open, during which she beat No.6 seed Dominika Cibulkova, Ons Jabeur is hoping to do equally as well - or even better - at Wimbledon.

She launched her qualifying campaign with a 6-3, 7-6(1) win over Sofya Zhuk, and is aiming to make the main draw at SW19 for the first time.

"Hopefully this year it’s going to be my year and I’m going to qualify and go to Wimbledon," she told the tournament's website.

Twice Wimbledon quarterfinalist and former World No.15 Kaia Kanepi beat Lesley Kerkhove, 6-1, 7-5, to secure a second-round match against Australia’s Arina Rodionova.

Elsewhere in Wimbledon qualifying, No.1 seed Aleksandra Krunic beat Lina Gjorcheska 6-4, 6-4 to set up a clash with Rebecca Sramkova, while China’s Lin Zhu came through in straight sets, 6-3, 7-5, against Quirine Lemoine.

Fifth seed Anna Blinkova crushed Switzerland’s Conny Perrin 6-0, 6-0, and will next take on Turkey’s Ipek Soylu.
