Last week was a good one for France's WTA contingent with Alizé Cornet and Caroline Garcia picking up titles in Katowice and Bogotá respectively.

Cornet, who came within a point of defeat against Camila Giorgi in the final, is now up to No.21 in the rankings - her highest position since 2009.

Remember Anna Chakvetadze? The former World No.5, who retired from tennis at the end of last year due to a long-term back injury, has been enlisted by Russian Fed Cup supremo Shamil Tarpischev to help coach the team during its upcoming World Group playoff against Argentina.
