WUHAN, China - The Wuhan Open website and marketing strategy was announced at a press conference in Wuhan recently, getting the ball rolling for the new Premier event that begins next year.
The website - www.wuhanopen.org - was launched, featuring everything a tournament website would have, and more to come. The marketing plan was also laid out, including five levels of sponsorship - one title sponsor, two diamonds, three platinum, five official sponsors and 10 official suppliers.
Wuhan Deputy Mayor Liu Yingzi, Wuhan Deputy Secretary-General Zhou Yuan, Provincial Sports Bureau Assistant Commissioner Zhang Jin, WTA Asia-Pacific Managing Director Peter Johnston, Octagon Tennis District Director Jorge Salkeld and China Open Director Zhang Junhui were there.
The Wuhan Open will take place at the Wuhan Optical Valley Tennis Centre, with at least seven of the world's Top 10 players competing during the week for a share of a prize purse of $2.4 million.
