And as with all facebook fan pages, fans can leave comments and encouragements for Jankovic, and may just get a response from her and her team.

Many other top players on the Tour have created wildly successful facebook fan pages that keep fans up to date throughout the year on their thoughts and feelings as they cross the globe playing tournaments, events and living their day to day lives.

World No.1 Serena Williams' page shares frequent updates from the star herself, while containing a message board for facebook fans to share their thoughts on Williams. Maria Sharapova's page is over 1 million fans strong, and brings fans almost daily updates on her whereabouts, plans and activities. 2009 comeback queen Kim Clijsters' page shares her extensive collection of YouTube video clips, while Danish sensation Caroline Wozniacki's page shares loads of photos and a large gallery of fan's shots of her.

But that's not the only place the Tour's stars are diving into the world of social networking. A number of top players are giving daily and sometimes hourly updates on twitter, the increasingly popular micro-blogging site. Serena and Venus Williams open revealing windows into their personal lives on their twitter feeds, as do Clijsters, US Open underdog Melanie Oudin, and Australian doubles champion Rennae Stubbs.
