SALT LAKE CITY, UT, USA - World No.1 doubles player Liezel Huber took time out of her busy pre-US Open schedule on Saturday to participate in the USANA International Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah.
USANA, the Official Health Supplement Supplier to the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour since 2007, welcomed over 12,000 of its associates and distributors from all over the world for the annual event. This year's theme: Breaking Through.
Huber began the day with a 5K run to benefit USANA's charity, the Children's Hunger Fund (over $125,000 was raised). Afterwards, Huber attended a luncheon that included many other USANA athletes and top sellers, then took the stage and shared her story on why she trusts her health to USANA. The South African-born American was introduced to the crowd by former WNBA basketball player and current coach of the University of San Francisco, Jennifer Azzi. Huber later signed autographs and donated a racquet and shirt for distributors to bid on (with proceeds going to the Children's Hunger Fund).
Other athletes to participate in the event included Olympic sprinter Michael Johnson, Olympic speed skater Derek Parra and Michael Bahn, the strength and conditioning coach for the NHL's Phoenix Coyotes.
"I've had a lot of good partners along the way and USANA is my partner in health," said Huber, who last weekend turned 34, becoming the oldest player ever to reign as No.1 in either singles or doubles on the Tour.
Over 160 players on the Tour take USANA supplements. For more information on USANA Health Sciences, visit its official website at www.usana.com.
