The Luxembourg Open is one of the country's most important sporting events. Held at the CK Sportcenter Kockelscheuer in October, it is the last International tournament of the season.
The 2011 champion was Victoria Azarenka; she won the title without dropping a set and then went on to reach the final of the Season-Ending Championships in Istanbul . Kim Clijsters has the tournament record with five titles here.
