First played in 1978, Stuttgart is Europe's oldest indoor women's tournament and is held in the state-of-the-art Porsche Arena. Julia Goerges became only the second German to win this event, beating No.1 seed Caroline Wozniacki in the 2011 final, much to her home crowd's delight. Martina Navratilova has the tournament record with six titles.
