In September, the week after the US Open, the Tashkent Open runs in the central Asian country of Uzbekistan.
In the 2011 final, Ksenia Pervak beat Eva Birnerova to capture her first WTA title. Uzbekistan's only Top 150 player, Akgul Amanmuradova reached the quarterfinals of this International event in 2010 and will hope to impress her home crowd by going even further at the Olympic Tennis School in 2012.
