Led by Victoria Azarenka, the Top 8 are in Turkey for the TEB BNP Paribas WTA Championships - Istanbul 2012.

The entire Top 8 - including the World No.1 - have been hitting at the Sinan Erdem Dome over the weekend.

Maria Sharapova is playing the WTA Championships for the sixth time, and won the title once, back in 2004.

In the 2004 final, Maria Sharapova rallied from 4-0 down in the third set to beat Serena Williams, 46 62 64.

Her will to win - and her ability to go lefty when dragged out wide - make Maria Sharapova a threat anywhere.

Clearly looking forward to every ball, Serena Williams is the only multiple champion in this year's field.

Serena Williams won this title in 2001 and 2009, and is an amazing 35-5 against the rest of the field combined.

Agnieszka Radwanska is one of four players in this year's field with a winning record at the WTA Championships.

The other three are all former champions at this event - Maria Sharapova, Serena Williams and Petra Kvitova.

Angelique Kerber is back from a foot injury that caused her to retire in Beijing and withdraw from Luxembourg.

Petra Kvitova made her debut at the WTA Championships last year and went all the way to the title undefeated.

Petra Kvitova had won 27 indoor matches in a row before losing to Maria Sharapova in Stuttgart in April.

Sara Errani hopes to rebound from a thigh injury that caused her to retire in Beijing and withdraw from Moscow.

Sara Errani also hopes to improve on a 4-23 head-to-head record against the rest of the field combined.

Li Na may have been the last player into the field, but she has a winning 26-23 record over the rest of them.
