Thursday's first order of business was the doubles draw - minus Sara Errani, who was prepping for her singles.

The other doubles semifinal will pit Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci against Maria Kirilenko and Nadia Petrova.
In the first singles match of the day, Li Na played Angelique Kerber, going into it with a 5-1 head-to-head lead.
And the fans watched on as Li Na made it 6-1 with a 64 63 win, keeping her hopes alive of making the semifinals.
The second match featured current World No.1 Victoria Azarenka against former World No.1 Serena Williams.
Serena Williams held an overwhelming 10-1 head-to-head lead going into the match, though some wins were tight.
Serena Williams served up 11 aces and rallied from 3-0 down in the second set to beat Victoria Azarenka, 64 64.
Serena Williams scored her 16th career win over a World No.1 - second all-time only to Martina Navratilova's 18.
Victoria Azarenka is a popular figure in Istanbul after her run to the final last year, falling to Petra Kvitova.
Serena Williams is now 3-0 in the Red Group, winning all of her matches in straight sets - the group's clear No.1.
Sara Errani wrapped up the winners on Day 3, like Li Na keeping her hopes alive for making the semifinals here.
