Several WTA stars, including Li Na, took some time out to meet Shenzhen Mayor Mr. Xu Qin.
The players present at the event were Yan Zi, Li Na, Elina Svitolina and Bojana Jovanovski.
Li Na is the only Chinese player ever to reach the Top 10, going as high as No.4 in 2011.
Peng Shuai is the next-highest-ranked Chinese player ever, going as high as No.14 in 2011.
The two Chinese trailblazers battled through to a semifinal showdown Friday in Shenzhen.
Peng Shuai came out stronger, breaking serve in the opening game and building a 3-1 lead.
But Li Na wasn't about to fold, reeling off four games in a row against her compatriot.
Li Na ended up winning 11 of the next 12 games, in fact, to complete a 64 60 victory.
The second set was particularly impressive, with Li Na needing just 21 minutes to take it.
Li Na will take on fellow thirty-something Klara Zakopalova for the title on Saturday.
