Maria Sharapova became the third woman, Open Era, to record back-to-back 60 60 wins at a Slam.
Ana Ivanovic made it through to the second week for the fifth time in her last six Grand Slams.
Another Serb, Bojana Jovanovski, reached the second week of a Grand Slam for the first time.
