The first week of the French Open wrapped up on Saturday, with Maria Sharapova among the winners.
Sharapova came back from 4-1 down in the second set to close Zheng Jie out in straight sets, 61 75.
Argentine qualifier Paula Ormaechea was also involved in a nail-biter against Bethanie Mattek-Sands.
Ormaechea won the first set, but Mattek-Sands stormed back to move into the second week, 46 61 63.
Mattek-Sands hit a very impressive 28 winners to just 7 unforced errors in those last two sets.
Meanwhile, Marion Bartoli wasn't so fortunate, hitting 9 winners to 19 unforced in her match.
With 32 winners to just 14 unforced, Francesca Schiavone toppled No.13 seed Bartoli, 62 61.
In the last match of the day on Court Philippe Chatrier, Samantha Stosur took on Jelena Jankovic.
The No.9-seeded Stosur had beaten the No.18-seeded Jankovic in their only French Open meeting...
And early in the match things looked headed the same way, as Stosur took the first set, 6-3.
But Jankovic - who had won their last three meetings - retaliated to win the second set, 6-3.
Jankovic eventually won the match, 36 63 64, firing an ace on match point and thanking her racquet.
