A packed crowd was on hand to watch Serena Williams face Sorana Cirstea for the Rogers Cup title.
From 3-2 in the first set Williams ran away with it, winning nine straight games to win it, 62 60.
Williams improved to 3-0 head-to-head against Cirstea, all three victories coming in straight sets.
Cirstea was playing her third WTA final, but first at the Premier level. She is now 1-2 overall.
Williams now has eight WTA titles this year and 54 in her career - ninth-most all-time on the WTA.
Jelena Jankovic and Katarina Srebotnik faced Anna-Lena Groenefeld and Kveta Peschke for the doubles.
And it was Jankovic and Srebotnik who came through in a match tie-break, winning it, 57 62 106.
It was Jankovic's second WTA doubles title, while Srebotnik came away with her amazing 34th.
