The 30th edition of Tokyo's Toray Pan Pacific Open came down to Petra Kvitova and Angelique Kerber.
Kerber, the No.1 lefty in the world, faced the No.2 lefty in the world and had a 2-1 head-to-head lead.
Kerber won a love second set and looked headed for victory, but things turned around in the third...
Kvitova raced out to a 4-0 lead in the third set and would eventually close Kerber out, 62 06 63.
Kvitova won her second WTA title of the year - after Dubai - and the 11th WTA title of her career.
It was the first all-lefty WTA final in four years and the biggest all-lefty WTA final in 20 years.
Later, Cara Black and Sania Mirza won the doubles title in their very first tournament as a pairing.
Chan Hao-Ching and Liezel Huber had double match point at 9-7 in the match tie-break, but it slipped.
Black and Mirza reeled off the last four points of the match to complete a 46 60 119 finals victory.
Black and Mirza posed with Black's son, Lachlan. Black now has 56 WTA doubles titles, Mirza 18.
