Day 2 of the TEB BNP Paribas WTA Championships - Istanbul began with Sara Errani taking on Li Na.
Li had never lost to Errani in five previous meetings and kept that pattern going this time as well.
The second set was a grinder but Li ground her way to a 63 76(5) victory against the tenacious Italian.
Li was playing her first match of the round robin portion and will play on Thursday and Friday too.
Victoria Azarenka took the court for the second match of the day - she took on Jelena Jankovic.
Azarenka had gone 4-0 against Jankovic in the last four years, but that pattern wouldn't keep up...
With brother and coach Marko cheering her on, Jankovic stayed strong and beat Azarenka, 64 63.
Marko Jankovic isn't just her coach - he actually introduced her to the sport when she was nine.
Serena Williams took the court in the last match of the day, against popular Pole Agnieszka Radwanska.
Williams is a popular figure in Istanbul as well - she did win the year-end title a year ago.
Williams would eventually prevail over Radwanska, 62 64, her 75th match win of a phenomenal season.
It's the most match wins since 2003, when Kim Clijsters recorded 90 match wins and Justine Henin 75.
