The first Finals Day of the new 2014 season took place at the ASB Classic in Auckland, New Zealand.
Ana Ivanovic and Venus Williams battled it out in an absolute dream final between former World No.1s.
It was Ivanovic who prevailed though, breaking early in the third and never letting go to win, 62 57 64.
Williams had won eight of the pair's nine previous meetings but this time it was Ivanovic's day.
Sharon Fichman and Maria Sanchez won the doubles final for their first WTA titles of any kind.
Over at the Shenzhen Open in Shenzhen, it was an all-Chinese final between Li Na and Peng Shuai.
Li had lost to Zheng Jie at Oeiras in 2006 in the only previous all-Chinese final - this time she won.
Li has never lost to Peng on home soil - the Chinese No.1 is now 5-0 against the Chinese No.2 in China.
Li has achieved many firsts for China, including becoming China's first and so far only Top 10 player.
Klara Zakopalova - who lost to Li in last year's singles final - won the doubles with Monica Niculescu.
The Kichenoks - Nadiya and Lyudmyla - nearly became the second pair of twins to win a WTA doubles title.
And finally Brisbane - Serena Williams beat Victoria Azarenka in a final between the world's Top 2.
Alla Kudryavtseva and Anastasia Rodionova beat Kristina Mladenovic and Galina Voskoboeva in the doubles.
Kudryavtseva and Rodionova have now won three WTA doubles titles together, but this was their biggest.
And so, Week 1 wrapped up with a bang - three tournaments, three megastars lifting WTA trophies...
