It wasn't the final everyone was expecting, but Andrea Petkovic and Jana Cepelova made it happen.
At No.78 in the world, Cepelova was the lowest-ranked player ever to make the Family Circle Cup final.
But when she beat World No.1 Serena Williams in the second round, she threw No.78 out the window.
Petkovic was also pulling off upsets - seeded No.14, she beat No.4, No.6 and No.9 along the way.
But when it came down to it, the favorite - Petkovic - outdid underdog Cepelova in straights, 75 62.
Petkovic captured the third WTA title of her career but most importantly her first Premier title.
Her first two WTA titles both came at International-level tournaments - both on red clay, too.
A former World No.9, Petkovic will now bounce back into the Top 30 when the new rankings come out.
The doubles title went to Spanish-Kazakhstani duo Anabel Medina Garrigues and Yaroslava Shvedova.
The Chan sisters - Hao-Ching and Yung-Jan - were gracious and popular finalists in the team event.
