Ana Ivanovic got off to a terrific start in Sunday's Porsche Tennis Grand Prix final, taking a 63 31 lead.
Maria Sharapova managed to seize back the momentum, winning 11 of the last 13 games.
Ivanovic was competing in her third final of 2014, having already been victorious in Auckland and Monterrey.
An emotional Sharapova after clinching the 36 64 61 victory, her seventh straight over Ivanovic.
Sharapova's performance this week ensured she would remain in the Top 10.
With her first title since a year ago in Stuttgart, Sharapova became one of 17 players with 30+ WTA titles.
In addition to $120,000 in prize money, Sharapova was awarded a Porsche 911 Carrera sports car.
Sharapova became a three-time champion at a tournament for the first time in her career.
Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci celebrated after beating Cara Black and Sania Mirza in the doubles final.
This was Errani and Vinci's 18th WTA doubles title and first since the Australian Open.
