A spirited crowd turned out to the Edgbaston Priory Club for the Aegon Classic final on Sunday.
Ana Ivanovic contested her first WTA grass court final against Barbora Zahlavova Strycova.
Zahlavova Strycova had not previously reached a Premier-level quarterfinal but made the Birmingham final.
Zahlavova Strycova was in good form early, breaking serve to start the match before Ivanovic caught fire.
Ivanovic won four straight games down 1-0 in the first set and five in a row down 1-0 in the second.
Ivanovic celebrated after sealing her 6-3, 6-2 win, her third in three tries against Zahlavova Strycova.
Ivanovic proudly displayed the trophy she won for capturing her first WTA grass court title.
The Aegon Classic was Ivanovic's biggest title since her 2008 French Open triumph.
Abigail Spears and Raquel Kops-Jones faced Ashleigh Barty and Casey Dellacqua in the doubles final.
A 7-6(1), 6-1 win gave Kops-Jones and Spears their ninth WTA title and their fifth at the Premier level.
