1999 - First pro event was in 1999 at ITF/Schlieren-SUI (l. 1r to sister Daniela)
2000 - Went 3-4 in ITF Circuit events; appeared on WTA Rankings on June 26 at No. 1041
2001 - As world No. 986, won first ITF Circuit title at ITF/Nitra-SVK and won two more back-to-back ITF titles, ITF/Beograd 2-YUG and ITF/Novi Sad-YUG (swept singles and doubles at both events); contested first Tour qualifying at Basel and Zurich (reaching 2r both times)
2002 - Surged from No. 342 to No. 54 in breakthrough season; in first event of year, qualified for Budapest for Tour debut and progressed to final, falling to Muller in 3s; at first attempt at Grand Slam qualifying, made Wimbledon main draw and reached 3r, d. Nagyova and Schett before falling to Henin; in next event, Brussels, her third Tour main draw, collected first Tour singles title as a WC, d. No. 1 seed Sanchez-Vicario in final; afterwards (July 15), broke into Top 100 at No. 85; qualified for Bahia and Filderstadt, where she scored first Top 5 win over No. 5 Henin to reach QF; made playing debut for Switzerland in Fed Cup World Group 1r loss to Slovakia and played in World Group Play-off vs. Sweden; also won ITF/Vaduz-LIE
2003 - Did not win consecutive Tour main draw matches throughout season, but qualified for Tier II events at New Haven (l. 2r to world No. 6 Mauresmo 75 64) and Filderstadt (l. 1r to No. 18 Schnyder 75 75); beaten in 2r of Tour events eight times, incl. Warsaw vs. world No. 11 Dokic, where she held two set points at 5-4 in first set and four in second-set tie-break before falling 75 76(12); in doubles, reached career-first SF at New Haven, US Open and Filderstadt (all w/Bartoli); quarterfinalist at Sydney (w/Dominikovic), d. Navratilova/Stevenson, l. 76 third set to eventual champions Clijsters/Sugiyama
2004 - Reached first Tour SF in two years (first-ever Tier II) as world No.104 at Antwerp (d. No.33 Pisnik en route, l. to eventual champion No.2 Clijsters), also made 3r as No.93 at Roland Garros (d. No.22 seed Sprem and No.34 Vento-Kabchi en route to match career-best Grand Slam performance, l. 36 63 64 to No.11 seed Kuznetsova after holding 4-1 third set lead); l. in 1r six other times, incl. Australian Open, Wimbledon, Olympics and (for first time in five appearances) US Open; with first-time partner Daniilidou, reached first doubles final of career at Antwerp, also reached final at Amelia Island w/Molik (another debut pairing); member of Swiss Fed Cup team that l. to Spain 3-2 in 1r (d. Marrero, l. to C.Martinez/Ruano Pascual w/Gagliardi); reached 2r in doubles at Olympics (w/Schnyder).
2005 - Played exclusively in Fed Cup, going 1-2 in Switzerland's 3-2 1r win vs. Slovak Republic and 0-1 in Switzerland's 4-1 loss to Austria in World Group I Playoffs.
