2003 - Reached SF at Hyderabad w/T.Li and later won first Tour doubles title together at Vienna; after a SF appearance w/T.Li at Palermo, won back-to-back titles at Québec City and Pattaya City; won seven ITF Circuit doubles titles; qualified at
US Open for Grand Slam debut.
2004 - Season highlighted by strong doubles play, incl. historic Olympic gold medal; made
Wimbledon debut as qualifier, reaching 2r; also qualified at Amelia Island (l. 2r to Davenport), Gold Coast, Doha, Miami and Charleston (l. 1r at each); in doubles at Olympics (w/T.Li), d. Raymond/Stosur en route), Strasbourg (w/Molik), Eastbourne (w/Tu; d. Black/Huber en route) and Guangzhou (w/King); now 11-8 lifetime in Tour doubles finals; having spent only four weeks inside doubles Top 20 previously (consecutively from October 4 until October 31, 2004; peaked at No.18 two of those weeks), returned to Top 20 on August 6, 2007 and stayed inside through November 12 year-end rankings (15 weeks); best singles results were 2r at Auckland, Indian Wells and Guangzhou; fell 1r 12 times (incl.
