- Holds five Grand Slam titles (winning Australian Open, Wimbledon and US Open in 1997, then winning Australian Open again in 1998 and 1999); reached seven more finals (three at Australian Open, two at Roland Garros and two at US Open).
- Also holds nine Grand Slam doubles titles (three w/Novotna, two w/Kournikova and one each w/Sukova, Zvereva, Lucic and Pierce) and one in mixed (w/Bhupathi).
- Holds 43 WTA titles and 38 WTA doubles titles.

- Underwent left ankle surgery on May 20, 2002 to repair four ligaments (one torn and three loose), missing Roland Garros and Wimbledon that year (her first Grand Slam absences since turning pro in 1994); withdrew from last three events of year due to continued pain in left ankle, citing premature return from surgery; missed 2003 and 2004 seasons as part of indefinite break from the Tour; played one event in 2005 (at Pattaya City; as unranked WC, l. 1r); on November 29, 2005, announced full-scale return to Tour in 2006; impressive comeback season, winning two more singles titles, one more doubles title and first Grand Slam mixed doubles title, also notching five Top 10 wins and working her way back to No.6 in the world (and qualifying for Tour Championships); also strong start to 2007, winning 43rd career Tour singles title at Tier I Tokyo [Pan Pacific], but struggled with injury during remainder of sophomore comeback season (particularly left hip), losing early at last Grand Slam (US Open) and last event (Beijing), withdrawing from Stuttgart and Zürich and ultimately announcing re-retirement from Tour on November 1, 2007.
