2001 - Played first WTA qualifying at Shanghai; won one doubles title on ITF Circuit.

2002 - Played first WTA main draw at Shanghai, falling 1r (as qualifier); won seven doubles titles on ITF Circuit.

2003 - QF at Tokyo [Japan Open]; fell 1r twice and in qualifying six times (incl. US Open); won five doubles titles on ITF Circuit.

2004 - Fell 1r four times and in qualifying nine times (incl. Australian Open, Wimbledon); won one doubles title on ITF Circuit.

2005 - Won first WTA title at Guangzhou (won title when Llagostera Vives ret. in final w/hamstring injury); was third Chinese at the time to win a WTA title (after Li and Zheng; since joined by Sun); reached 2r three times; fell 1r once and in qualifying four times (incl. US Open); won two WTA doubles titles; won two doubles titles on ITF Circuit.

2006 - SF at Rabat (l. to Shaughnessy); reached 2r three times (incl. Australian Open); fell 1r 12 times (incl. other three majors) and in qualifying six times; made Top 100 debut on January 16 (rose from No.101 to No.88); won six WTA doubles titles w/Zheng, incl. China's first Grand Slam titles of any kind at Australian Open (d. Raymond/Stosur in final) and Wimbledon (d. 2008 - SF at Bangalore (l. to Schnyder); reached 2r four times; fell 1r nine times (incl. all four majors and Olympics) and in qualifying once; made Top 50 debut on March 10 (rose from No.54 to No.43) and reached career-high No.40 on May 5; won two WTA doubles titles; also won bronze medal in doubles at Olympics (w/Zheng).

2009 - Fell 1r three times and in qualifying 10 times (incl. Australian Open); won one WTA doubles title.

2010 - Reached 2r once; fell in qualifying three times; won one WTA doubles title.
