Coaching Career Highlights: 

  • Returned to coach Angelique Kerber at the beginning of the 2024 season
  • While previously at the helm of Kerber’s camp, Beltz helped her win the first Grand Slam title of her career at the 2016 Australian Open, where the German defeated defending champion and then-World No.1 Serena Williams in the final in three sets  
  • Kerber subsequently won the Olympic Silver Medal in Rio and a second Grand Slam title at the 2016 US Open 
  •  Following her triumph at Flushing Meadows, she ascended to World No.1 for the first time
  • She also finished runner-up at the WTA Finals and finished that year on top of the world rankings
  • Since taking over the reins of Vekic, the Croatian reached a career-high ranking of No.25 on February 4, 2019 
  • Vekic advanced to the Round of 16 at a Grand Slam for the first time in her career at 2018 Wimbledon 
  • Other 2018 notable results with the Croatian were a runner-up finish at Washington, D.C. and two semifinal showings at Nottingham and Tokyo PPO 
  • Beltz guided her to a successful start in 2019, posting a semifinal finish at Brisbane and a runner-up appearance at St. Petersburg - her first career WTA Premier level final  

 

Playing Experience: Played collegiately in the USA prior to competing at the futures/satellite level in Germany 

 Personal: Married with two children. Hobbies include playing golf and basketball.
