WUHAN, China - After the final of the Dongfeng Motor Wuhan Open on Saturday, and to follow a tradition that has been going on almost the entire season, WTA Rising Star Eugenie Bouchard was given a stuffed animal by one of her fans - but there was something different about this one.
"The fans give me these gifts, and this one looks very scary and evil, but I will still accept it even if it looks possessed and might attack me tonight!" she said in her press conference. "I will bring it back to Canada. I will have some heavier suitcases, as usual, but it's the price to pay.
"I might post a tweet or something. Just watch out."
Judge for yourselves...
Good week but want to do better! Thank you Wuhan for the memories & gifts ?? pic.twitter.com/JYaJal5iz2
The Canadian, who is currently one of the leading contenders for one of the last four spots in the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global, must have survived at least part of the rest of the day, as she tweeted out a picture of meeting some other cute little ones in Wuhan.
She will continue her quest for the WTA Finals at the China Open in Beijing.
