INDIAN WELLS, CA, USA - On Wednesday, before she took the court for a grueling three set win over Carla Suárez Navarro in the quarterfinals of the BNP Paribas Open, Simona Halep was greeted by a fellow Romanian sports legend - five-time Olympic gold medal-winning gymnast Nadia Comaneci.

Comaneci had come out to the Indian Wells Tennis Garden to watch Halep play WTA Rising Star Karolina Pliskova on Tuesday, then came back Wednesday morning to catch up with Halep.

For Comaneci, Romanian sports legend doesn't even say it all - she's one of the greatest athletes of all time, winning five Olympic gold medals in gymnastics (all-around, uneven bars and balance beam at Montréal in 1976 and balance beam and floor exercise at Moscow in 1980) as well as three silvers and a bronze. She was the first female to be awarded a perfect score of 10 in an Olympic gymnastic event.

Can Halep win a gold medal at next year's Olympic Tennis Event in Rio de Janeiro? Stay tuned...
