For the second consecutive season, the Porsche Race to Singapore is set to come down to the final week of the WTA regular season. Thanks to an incredible late surge from France's Caroline Garcia, who reeled off 11 consecutive wins to capture the Dongfeng Motor Wuhan Open and China Open over the weekend, the 23-year-old overtook Britain's Johanna Konta for the No.8 position on the PRTS Leaderboard. 

Garcia holds a 185 point lead on Konta. Neither are playing this week. Garcia withdrew from the Tianjin Open with an upper right leg injury and Konta withdrew from the Hong Kong Open citing a foot injury. Konta is entered into next week's Premier event at the Kremlin Cup in Moscow. Garcia is not currently entered in any events next week, meaning she would need a wildcard for either Moscow or Luxembourg if she wants to add points to her tally. 

If Garcia chooses not to play next week, Konta will need to reach the final in Moscow to have a chance of earning the final qualifying spot. If she falls before that stage, Garcia will become the eighth and final qualifier. 

Any potential qualifying scenarios for Konta would also depend on Garcia's results if she plays next week. If Garcia is granted a wildcard to play Luxembourg, she cannot clinch a Singapore spot there, but her progress could force Konta to win the Moscow title to qualify.
