WASHINGTON, DC, USA - World No.2 Simona Halep is making her debut at the Citi Open in Washington, DC this week, and the Romanian sat down with the United States' capital's biggest news outlet - the Washington Post - for a sitdown interview on Facebook Live prior to the start of the tournament. 

The top seed provided an inside look about her life on tour, handling life as a Grand Slam contender and her relationship with coach Darren Cahill, among other topics.

Halep went on to defeat wildcard Sloane Stephens in her first match of the tournament on Monday, and is slated to face Mariana Duque-Mariño in the second round.
