Ons Jabeur is the first Tunisian to reach a WTA Singles final. She is also the first qualifier to reach the final in Moscow.

Home favorite Daria Kasatkina has reached her second successive Moscow final. Last year's defeat to Julia Goerges was her third loss in four previous finals - including defeats at Indian Wells and in Dubai this year.

Daria Kasatkina won the only previous meeting with Ons Jabeur, the 21-year-old coming from a set and a break down to beat the Tunisian at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.

Victory on Saturday would make Daria Kasatkina the sixth Russian to win the Moscow event - the most recent being Svetlana Kuznetsova two years ago.

The semifinal against Anastasija Sevastova was the first time Ons Jabeur has dropped a set at this year's event, while Daria Kasatkina has also been taken the distance once, by Alizé Cornet in the second round.

The last three Moscow finals have been won in straight sets, with the victor dropping just three games on each occasion.
