PARIS, France - 2010 French Open champion Francesca Schiavone is one step closer to a main draw berth in Paris, defeating Jamie Loeb 6-1, 6-4 in the second round of Roland Garros qualifying.

She’ll face No.10 seed Evgeniya Rodina in the next round after the Russian advanced 3-6, 7-5, 6-0 against Sabina Sharipova.

Also in action, No.17 seed Caroline Dolehide had to come back from a set down to advance, defeating Marie Bouzkova 4-6, 6-3, 7-5.

“I definitely think all the practice I’ve done in the last few weeks has paid off,” she told RolandGarros.com.

“Not getting into Rome meant I had a great week with my coach. I know that 90 percent of my matches go to three sets. Today I trusted in my fitness and implemented everything we’d been working on.”

Dolehide will take in Irina Bara in the next round after the Romanian defeated No.4 seed Anna Blinkova 4-6, 6-4, 6-1.

Meanwhile, Harmony Tan gave the home crowd something to cheer about on a day that saw two of her countrywomen bow out. Tan, the lone Frenchwoman standing, defeated  Liu Fangzhou 6-4, 6-2 while Diane Parry fell 7-6(6), 6-0 to Rebecca Sramkova and Margot Yerolymos 6-1, 6-3 to No.6 seed Viktorija Golubic.

Marta Kostuyk’s dream run came to an end at the hands of Martina Trevisan, who knocked out the Ukrainian 6-3, 6-3.

Also making their way to within one win of the Roland Garros main draw, No.7 seed Mariana Duque-Marino and No.13 Dalila Jakupovic will face off in the next round. Duque-Marino knocked out Britain’s Gabriella Taylor 6-4, 6-4 while Jakupovic edged out Kathinka von Deichmann 6-7(5), 7-6(4), 6-3.

No.2 seed Rebecca Peterson and No.21 seed Ysaline Bonaventure have also booked a clash, with Peterson easing past Francesca di Lorenzo 6-2, 6-4 and Bonaventure edging Maryna Zanevska 6-2, 7-5 to advance.
